Long before a painting is framed, it begins with friction: pigment against linen, a brush changing direction, a layer left to settle before the next begins. That slow accumulation is what gives oil painting its presence.

01 — OUR BEGINNING
A belief before a collection
Canvelor began with a question: why should original-feeling art seem distant from the homes in which life actually happens?
We imagined a more personal way to discover painting — one guided by material, emotion and the quiet relationship between an artwork and its surroundings. The collection grew from that belief, not from a passing aesthetic.
A painting should hold its own world, then learn the rhythm of yours.
02 — THE HAND
Every surface remembers the hand
Oil painting records decisions. A palette knife leaves a ridge; a dry brush softens an edge; a translucent glaze lets an earlier colour breathe through. No two passages settle in exactly the same way.
We value those variations because they are evidence of making. They give a work its tempo, its depth and the small discoveries that only appear when the light changes.
Texture is not an effect. It is the memory of the artist’s hand.
